Hey GLACURH!
Your Regional Board had our winter retreat this past weekend at Marquette University and came up with some awesome ideas for you. First off, big snaps to Marquette for being a fantastic host site! We loved getting to see your campus and meeting your student leaders!
One thing we would really like to do at No Frills is start working with our regional philanthropy, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). And to focus our efforts a little, we've decided to really work on saving our regional mascot, the polar bear, through our philanthropy efforts. We've come up with a couple ways to do this and wanted to give you the heads up so you can start working towards our philanthropy as well.
The first thing we're going to do is collect Coke points. Coca Cola has partnered with WWF to make the points you can collect from their products to count towards donations to WWF. Bring all your coke points (the caps you get off of the bottles) to No Frills 09. The person with the most Coke points at No Frills will receive their very own plush MOWII! (donated by a regional board member).
Another way we are looking to contribute to WWF is through their adoption program. We can adopt our very own polar bear and name it MOWII! Our goal is to raise $250 to adopt our polar bear before NACURH. So at No Frills we will have two ways for you help with this cause. We will be having a bake sale (goodies baked by your favorite RBD!) and you will be able to adopt a mini-MOWII. We are also going to look into have the mini-MOWII adoption to play into our regional banner or display at NACURH, so if anyone else from your school would like to donate and get a mini-MOWII be sure to bring money from them as well. We are going to be charging $1.00 for the mini-MOWII and the bake sale items will be at various prices.
